In an interview on FOX News Channel’s (FNC) Shepard Smith Reporting (3PM/ET) Friday, anchor Shepard Smith interviewed Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) to discuss the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that hit southern Alaska, just north of Anchorage.
“It is a very serious, serious, serious mess in Alaska – it is a tragedy,” Murkowski stated. ” The early reports are very concerning in terms of damage to infrastructure, the roads, the concern about power being out. It is cold at home right now, it is about 25.”
“This has been a very, very hard wakeup call for the population center of our state there in Anchorage,” she added.
A tsunami warning was automatically issued immediately after the quake and rescinded shortly thereafter. No serious injuries or deaths have yet been reported.
