Mitt Romney ‘Decimated’ The Republican Party And Should Be ‘Exhibit 1’ With Jeff Flake In Museum Of The Swamp, Says Dan Bongino

Radio host and political commentator Dan Bongino accused Sen.-elect Mitt Romney of decimating the Republican Party, on “Fox & Friends” Wednesday, and said he’ll be one of the last remnants of the District of Columbia swamp.

Bongino was responding to a Tuesday op-ed in The Washington Post written by Romney, in which he criticized President Donald Trump and the administration’s policies.

He called Romney a “sell-out” and said he and outgoing Sen. Jeff Flake of Arizona will always be linked as members of the GOP Swamp.

“He’s a sell-out. He’s a fraud. He’s a phony. He’s a fake,” Bongino said. “This is the kind of guy who has absolutely disseminated the Republican Party.”

“When there’s a museum left to the remnant of the swamp GOP and we’re all walking through this museum in 20 or 30 years when there used to be the GOP– exhibit 1 will be Mitt Romney followed closely by Jeff Flake,” he continued. “You know Jeff Flake had to pass the baton of GOP sell-outs. And they couldn’t even wait. The race isn’t even over yet. Romney doesn’t even swear in, I believe, until Thursday. So, they couldn’t even wait to pass the baton.”

Bongino also criticized Romney for biting the hand that fed him after Trump endorsed him in his Utah Senate race during November’s midterms.

“Trump gave him a chance. He gave him another chance having dinner with him in Manhattan, the president that is, and interviewed him for jobs. And do you know what? He endorsed Romney, the president. You want to talk about character, you big phony fraud fake! You know what? You should have never taken that endorsement if this is how you felt,” he said. “This guy’s a disgrace. He’s an embarrassment. I’m embarrassed for him, the people of Utah and anyone who supported this fraud. What a fake.”
