Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring has admitted at a college party he wore blackface and a wig dressing as a black rapper at the University of Virginia.
Attorney General Herring called for Governor Northam to resign after the disturbing racist photos came out about Governor Ralph “C**nman” Northam. Rumors started to circulate about the skeletons in Herring’s closet. He admitted he and two friends dressed in racist blackface. “It sounds ridiculous even now writing it.” “That conduct clearly shows that, as a young man, I had a callous and inexcusable lack of awareness and insensitivity to the pain my behavior could inflict on others,” he said. So you were just an unaware idiotic young man but Governor Northam should resign?
Herring also said he’s “sure we all have done things at one time or another in our lives that show poor judgment, and worse yet, have caused some level of pain to others.” The 1980 party, he said, is a “glaring example” of that.
Governor Ralph Northam is facing countless calls to resign over the blackface photos but so far Attorney General Mark Herring is yet to face calls for his resignation.
Governor Northam is fighting for his political life, Lt. Governor Fairfax faces sexual assault allegations, and Attorney General Mark Herring has admitted to wearing blackface while calling for Governor Northam resign for the thing he also did. If the scandals force all 3 to resign the Speaker of the House of Delegates Kirk Cox a Republican would become Governor, Senate President Pro-Tempore Steve Newman a Republican would become Lieutenant Governor, and the new Attorney General would be picked by the state legislature both of which are narrowly controlled by Republicans.
