Liberalism isn’t as popular as Democrats would have you believe

While socialist-loving Democrats would love nothing more than convince the average voter that liberalism is on the rise, nothing could be further from the truth, according to a new Gallup poll.

The residents of most U.S. states are more likely to identify as conservative than as liberal in their political ideology. In 25 states, the conservative advantage is significantly greater than the national average, including 19 “highly conservative” states in which conservatives outnumber liberals by at least 20 percentage points. Meanwhile, in six states, there are more liberals than conservatives.

Nationally, the conservative advantage in ideological identification is nine percentage points, and reflects a narrowing of the conservative-liberal gap from 21 points in 2004.

“The number of states in which more residents identify as liberal than as conservative is down slightly from nine in 2017,” the survey shows. “States that barely tilted liberal in 2017 barely tilted conservative in 2018,” marking a significant shift.

The states that do lean liberal have some of the most oppressive taxes, highest costs of living, and unfriendly business climates in the country. New York recently ran a new Amazon.com headquarters out of the state, costing billions in tax revenue and tens of thousands of high-paying jobs.

The poll doesn’t conclude why the shift has occurred, but, without question, the nation is going more conservative. Some experts believe that the sudden socialist shift in the Democrat party has pushed moderate liberals to the other side while others see Trump’s success as the nation’s leader as a unifying force for the right.

While the country enjoys its best economy in a generation, Democrats can do little but complain and they offer no solutions to the border crisis. The constant whining is seen by many as infantile and petty while Republicans continue to enjoy the fruits of two years of conservative policy at the federal level.

The results of this poll might just show that Americans again have a good answer to what Ronald Reagan once asked: “Are you better off now that you were four years ago?”

The answer is yes, and it is conservative policies that have made that happen.
