Trump Taps First Lady’s Aide to be White House Press Secretary

A top aide to First Lady Melania Trump will be the next White House press secretary and communications director.

Stephanie Grisham will replace outgoing Secretary Sarah Sanders who is set to leave the position Friday, but according to the first lady’s tweet, she will still be working the East Wing of the White House as well.

Grisham will take on a total of three rolls formerly held by three different people. Bill Shine was pushed out as communications director in February, Sanders leaves Friday and Stephanie will continue to aid the first lady.

The new press secretary has been with the Trumps since 2015 as a campaign staffer and since then she has mostly helped the first lady become more of a national and global figure including Mrs. Trump’s #BeBest children’s campaign.

Outgoing Secretary Sarah Sanders offered nothing but praise for Grisham in a tweet posted Tuesday afternoon.
