President Donald Trump holds a briefing Friday to update the nation on the status of Operation Warp Speed.
Operation Warp Speed streamlined FDA regulatory processes, coordinated a massive vaccine production effort, created a logistical plan for the delivery of the vaccine, coordinated with nationwide pharmacies to make the vaccine widely-available, and mobilized massive resources to distribute a vaccine.
These efforts condensed a typically 3-year vaccine development-to-distribution timeline into 10 months.
The briefing is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. EST.
