Free Speech platform Parler has filed suit against retail and web service giant Amazon citing anti-trust and breach of contract.
Google and Apple removed Parler’s mobile app from their stores late last week and Amazon kicked Parler off its servers at 11:59 p.m. EST Sunday night citing concerns that it would be used to plan further violence – even though the Jan. 6 Capitol Hill breach appears to have been planned on Facebook, not Parler.
In a suit (Parler LLC v. Amazon Web Services, Inc.,2:21-cv-31) filed at the U.S. District Court in the Western District of Washington, Parler is seeking a temporary restraining order to prevent Amazon from removing the platform from Amazon Web Services (AWS) servers.
No hearing has yet been scheduled nor has U.S. District Judge Barbara Rothstein issued a response.
