In his statements, Tillis said he has no symptoms and would have never known about his cancer without the PSA blood test that was performed. Tillis will undergo surgery in North Carolina next week and is expected to make a full recovery.
Tillis has served in the Senate since 2015. He won reelection in 2020 amid a hard-fought campaign against his Democrat challenger.
