The One Thing CPAC Has Proven Without a Doubt

Orlando, FL — Conservatives across the country were either watching or following the events at the Conservative Political Action Conference, or CPAC, in Orlando this weekend. Many of the popular names among conservatives were on hand to speak and share their insights into the state of conservative values and the conservative mission going forward amid a Biden presidency.

The first is that President Trump is clearly the leader of conservatives and the GOP moving forward. There’s no doubt that this frustrates establishment Republicans as they have each said that there must be a move to get the party away from President Trump. That is simply not going to happen anytime soon.

In the straw poll that is conducted at the event, President Trump easily won. He won with over 55% of the support and most likely would have won by a larger margin had he already announced he was going to seek the presidency again in 2024. As other Republicans jockey for position behind him, if he announces there few who doubt he will be the nominee. Of those asked, 68% said that they wanted him to run again in 2024.

Establishment Republicans and the media are not content that President Trump has been willing to stand up against them and fight them. It probably is also telling since many of those considered establishment were not invited to the CPAC event as well.

One other thing that we easily see after CPAC is that there are two clear favorites among the party if President Trump were to choose not to run in 2024. South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis both emerged as clear favorites. DeSantis won the poll that was taken without Trump in it and was second right behind President Trump. Noem was behind DeSantis in both polls.

Both delivered quality remarks at the CPAC event and have been clear leaders among the coronavirus pandemic. Both have been supportive of President Trump and could be considered potential running mates if he wanted to run. It could also prove to be a powerful ticket for conservatives against Biden if Trump decided not to run.

While many establishment Republicans have said that the event was disappointing, it was anything but disappointing. One thing CPAC has proven without a doubt is the party’s alignment behind Trump.  I would expect Trump to be more vocal in the coming days as he continues to attack Biden and the radical agenda of the Left.
