Winken, Blinken, and Lies

Antony Blinken addresses the press and American people every day. He stands at the podium and gazes out like a deer in the headlights. His delivery is slower than a Tim Wakefield Knuckleball and just as weak. Antony generates no enthusiasm or commitment in his addresses because he probably doesn’t believe anything coming past his lips. I never thought I would say this, but Antony Blinken makes me miss John Kerry or Hillary Clinton heading up the State Department. Wait a second. They have something in common. You cannot believe anything they say.

Let’s look at this current situation where we have six planes on the Kabul airport tarmac filled with Americans and Afghans, but someone is preventing them from taking off. It might be the Taliban, or it might be Blinken’s State Department.

These are the statements by Blinken on Thursday:

The Taliban is preventing the flights from taking off. We are doing everything in our power to encourage the Taliban to release the flights

The bottom line is these flights take off, and we will work every day to see that they do. We will continue to push the Taliban to release them.

This is not a parody. Our Secretary of State stood before the American people and recited this dribble. The State Department has not looked this bad since Hilary Clinton and Jen Psaki were spinning tall tales in 2015. Psaki learned from the best how to lie with a straight face. She has brought that talent with her to the Biden White House.

This White House has a credibility issue. They claimed they were going to be the most transparent administration and they have. Every day, we have seen how they have their talking points, every department follows them, and then the next day retracts or explains them. It is to the point that you delay 24 hours before commenting, as you know another version of their truth will be coming.

We have seen this consistently play out since January 20th. Whether it is the Border, Afghanistan, Mandates, Vaccines, or the Hostages in Kabul, their stories change from day to day. These changes are not due to new elements but usually by being caught in a lie. Just this past week, the administration was taking credit for a planeload of Americans and Afghans rescued when it was known to have been civilians who went in and brought these people safely out of Taliban control.

This week, Biden went to the podium to announce new mandates for Federal workers and any business over 100 employees to insist every employee be vaccinated or tested weekly. He exempted the Postal workers. Why, because their union wouldn’t buy into Biden’s plan? Why should any small business have to abide by this new hindrance to their operation when the 220,000 members of the Postal Union were not under the same burden? It makes no sense, but this is the Biden way. Make no sense and clean up later.

Many have said that if these bad decisions were not so significant and their impact so great, they would be comical. It is time, well past the time, for the comedy show to end, and some sound decisions start emanating from this White House. They have already secured the distinction of the worst Presidency ever. Now we need them to man up and fix it.
