Forget Expensive, Thanksgiving Dinner Staples May Be Hard to Find

Thanksgiving dinner may be the next victim of President Biden’s unhandled supply chain crisis, according to a Wall Street Journal report.

Research firm IRI reported that by Halloween, Turkey inventories were 60% lower than average and 30% lower than last year. IRI also noted that canned cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes, boxed stuffing, and pre-made pies were going to be harder to find.

The Biden administration blames consumers for the crisis that has made Christmas gifts, appliances, electronics, and food very difficult to find and pushed prices on everything higher. White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki told reporters in October that things were in short supply because people have money to spend.

In actuality, the snafu is due to a shortage of truck drivers, warehouse staff, and manufacturing workers caused by authoritarian lockdowns and public overreaction to COVID. Trucking companies, manufacturers, and shipping centers all laid-off staff as the economy ground to halt last year and many have not returned.

Now, Team Biden is making things even worse. The administration just put out its vaccine mandate rule forcing all companies with 100 or more employees to require workers to get the COVID vaccine. Companies say the mandate is making the tight labor market even more difficult as workers would rather stay unemployed than get a vaccine still only allowed under an emergency use authorization (EUA), not full approval.

The supply chain catastrophe is exacerbated by energy prices skyrocketing in direct response to Biden admin policy and the reluctance of American energy producers to start new projects with left-wing extremists running the government. Just last week Biden’s Energy Secretary, Jennifer Granholm, laughed when asked what they were doing to address the huge spike in gas prices. This week, the administration announced that it is considering shutting down an oil and gas pipeline that is crucial to the midwest. Higher energy prices mean higher everything prices.

So while the media protect Biden, Buttigieg, Granholm, and Raimondo for failing to properly address the supply chain crisis, the energy crisis, and run-away inflation, American families are going to find their Turkey dinners harder to make and much more expensive.
