President Biden Delivers Remarks Attempting to Blame Putin for Inflation, Gas Prices – 4/12/22

President Joe Biden will deliver a speech Tuesday hoping to convince Americans that Putin is responsible for the skyrocketing prices of food, fuel and other necessities.

Gas prices have been on the rise ever since the Biden administration dismantled pipeline projects, restricted leasing, and increased regulation on the industry.

Food prices have been significantly impacted by Biden’s failing energy policy. Everything from fertilizer to tractor fuel requires oil production and refining. Diesel is needed to move food from where it’s grown to where it’s bought. Fuel prices quickly become food prices.

Blaming inflation and record gas prices on Putin requires erasing all the economic data for Biden’s first year. First, core inflation:

From January 2021 to January 2022, West Texas Intermediate Crude (WTI) prices went from an average of $42/barrel to $74. That’s why gas, groceries, and everything else got so expensive before anyone was even discussing Russian troops “holding exercises” on the Ukraine border.
