Kamala Harris Big on Perceptions.  Not so Good on Reality

Are you aware of the perception of many about how the power and the discretion at ICE is being used to enforce the laws and do you see any parallels [with the KKK]? …  Are you aware that there is a perception that ICE is administering its power in a way that is causing fear and intimidation, particularly among immigrants and specifically among immigrants coming from Mexico and Central America? … how can you be the head of an agency and be unaware of how your agency is perceived by certain communities?

In the Senate confirmation hearings of Ronald Vitiello in early 2022, current Democrat Presidential nominee Kamala Harris concocted a typically absurd comparison of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to the KKK.  The context is that Vitiello, alluding to the fact that the racist Klan had been started by southern Democrats after the end of the Civil War, had, in a 2015 tweet compared the Democrats to a “liberal-cratic” or “New-Klanist” Party.  Kamala responded by saying that it is ICE that resembles the KKK because that “there is a perception” that ICE enforces laws the way the KKK enforced its terror.  The she repeatedly badgers him about the alleged existence of these “perceptions. In other words, ICE, which was created by an act of congress in the Homeland Security Act of 2002, behaves like the illegal racist murderous organization, the KKK.  Sure Kamala!

It is worth pointing out that this is a standard Democrat strategy, namely, to move the discussion from reality to perceptions where Democrats fare much better.  Unfortunately, the fact that there is a perception that something is true counts for NOTHING.  There was once a perception that the world was flat but that doesn’t mean it is.   More to the point, in Dec. of 2020, Rasmussen reports the following perception among US likely voters,

Forty-seven percent (47%) say it’s likely that Democrats stole voters or destroyed pro-Trump ballots in several states to ensure that Joe Biden would win. … This includes 36% who say voter fraud was Very Likely. These findings are little changed from mid-November. 

This includes “Thirty-nine percent (39%) [who] disagree and say [that the large number of mail-in ballots” led to unprecedented voter fraud in the election.  In 2022 a Monmouth University poll found that there is a perception by 61% of Republicans that Biden did not win the election fairly.  In the same year The Guardian found that “more than 40% of Americans do not believe that Biden won legitimately.  Are you aware of those perceptions Kamala?

Further, The Daily Mail of London, not bombarded by the American “news” media poodles that cover for the Democrats, reports that the perception of respondents to its 2023 poll see Kamala as “’incompetent’, ‘unqualified’ and the worst Vice President in 40 years.”  That is the perception of a lot of Americans as well.  A July 27, 2024 FiveThirtyEight Poll finds that only 38.5% of Americans perceive of Kamala Harris approvingly while a whopping 52.2% perceive her disapprovingly.  Are you aware of those “perceptions” Kamala?

Megyn Kelly has stated her perception that Kamala Harris “slept her way to the top” (Kamala’s relationship with Willie Brown, the Democrat Mayor and “godfather” of San Francisco politics that jump-started Kamala’s political career or with famous talk show host Montel Williams).  Is that true?  Maybe yes, maybe no.  But, and this is the key point, according to comrade Kamala, that doesn’t matter because that perception is out there.  Are you aware of that “perception” Kamala?

One might think these points are not definitive.  Take the case of perceptions about the 2020 election.  One might argue that even though between 30 and 40% of Americans think the 2020 election was illegitimate, a higher percentage think it was legitimate.  Note, however, that when Kamala said that there is a perception among illegal immigrants that ICE treats them the way the KKK used to treat blacks, she gives no statistics to support this claim.  She does not provide a poll that 60% of illegal immigrants perceive that ICE treats them the way KKK treated minorities.  That is, she gives no evidence whatsoever for her claim.  Her “evidence” is, at best, anecdotal.  It is also self-serving insofar as it is used to support her career and her Party’s policies. 

Creating fake perceptions to support their political agenda is standard Democrat strategy.  Consider just a few examples!

On Trump’s first day in office in 2016 a Time Magazine “journalist” reported falsely that Trump had removed the bust of Martin Luther King from the Oval Office.  He was in the room and did not see it so that’s what he reported.  Asking someone, “Hey, where is the bust of Martin Luther King?” was apparently a bit too much for this alleged “journalist”.  Besides, this fake story was useful for creating the Democrat Party “perception” that Trump is a racist so he didn’t bother.

Similarly, Democrats and their “news” media poodles created another false perception that Donald Trump praised Nazis and White Supremacists that were at the protest in Charlottesville against removing Confederate statues.  It took the left-leaning Snopes “fact checker” seven years but they finally found someone who could read the 9^th grade level (perhaps the last one that has been produced by what remains of our “educational system”), who informed them that in fact Trump had explicitly stated that he was not praising the Nazis and White Supremacists because “they should be condemned totally”.

All three of these stories, and there are many more, were used by the Democrats and their “news” media poodles to create the perception that Trump is a racist.  After having created that perception, they can then, in a display of fake moral outrage, whine and cry about the fake perceptions they themselves created in the populace.   Congratulations Kamala!  This has nothing to do with compassion for illegal immigrants which are political props for the Democrats in their relentless selfish quest to solidify their grip on money and power. 

The key point is that Kamala’s deceptive strategy of adverting to perceptions is a standard strategy by Democrats.  Instead of dealing with reality, they deal in “perceptions” instead.  Reality is difficult.  Reality does not always bend to one’s desires.  So, Democrats do not deal with it.  Since, by contrast, “perceptions,” being malleable and easily created, are easy to deal with, making them a favourite tool of demagogues, Democrats deal with (manipulate) perceptions.  Indeed, the malleability of perceptions explains their popularity with weak-minded, unserious and unscrupulous people, e.g., someone with a penis who puts on a dress and thinks that makes him a female or someone who thinks that saying the president is healthy makes him healthy.

Since, unfortunately, Democrats don’t deal with reality, but only with easily malleable perceptions, their policies seldom work and often makes things worse in reality.  That’s why poor people have been voting for Democrats for ages and are still poor.

That is Kamala Harris and the Democrat Party of Perceptions and that “is the failure of this country”.
