Cheatle’s refusal to resign will be short-lived. The Secret Service knew about Crooks (the assassin) a full hour before he fired a single shot. There were four counter-sniper teams at the rally.

The two most glaring problems are that the Secret Service designated Crook’s rooftop as an issue DAYS before the event and didn’t put anyone up there. They say the roof was slanted so it wasn’t safe. Crooks thought it worked just fine. And that they identified a threat 60 minutes before the shooting and did not keep Trump from going on stage.

The service is inept and made so by a culture that allows it. The USSS must be led by a hardcore badass who does NOT tolerate failure. The current director is too soft for the job and she just proved it.

Cheatle must go.
