Washington, D.C. – Today, Look Ahead America’s (LAA) Executive Director, Matt Braynard, issued the following statement:
In October 2020, I provided the FBI with evidence that ActBlue was funding Hamas and four other terrorists groups as designated by the U.S. State Department.
I earlier developed a working relationship with the FBI after they reached out to me because of a report I published with evidence of ActBlue laundering straw donations to Democrat political candidates.
At the time, the BDS National Committee (BNC) website was using ActBlue to raise funds. The BNC is controlled by Palestinian National and Islamic Forces (PNIF), a coalition that includes five U.S.-designated terrorist organizations—one of which is Hamas.
BNC’s former payment processor, DonorBox, publicly stated that they would suspend transacting payments because it was outlawed by the U.S. government. However, ActBlue continued to process these payments.
In June 2022, I contacted the same FBI agents to inform them of my intention to go public with this information and reveal that I had provided it to them two years earlier. I was strongly discouraged from doing so and was told that speaking out would jeopardize an ongoing investigation.
Now, five years later after I provided the initial evidence, still no action has been taken. I emboldened to come forward thanks to my confidence in our new FBI Director, Deputy Director, and the President.
