House Dems Post Peak Cringe Video Imagining Congresswomen As Video Game Characters

Several Democratic congresswomen took part in a video posted Wednesday that portrayed them as characters from the “Street Fighter” video game franchise.

Democratic Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Lauren Underwood of Illinois, Katherine Clark of Massachusetts, Judy Chu of California, Jasmine Crockett of Texas and Susie Lee of Nevada took part in the 18-second video similar to the character selection screens of the arcade and console franchise that influencer Sulhee Jessica Woo posted on Instagram Wednesday. The Democrats posed in martial arts stances for about two or three seconds each after Woo did.

Woo has posted on Instagram criticizing President Donald Trump and White House senior advisor Elon Musk, claiming that Trump was halting cancer research in a video that featured Clark. She also posted a video blaming Trump for higher gas prices, even though Trump signed executive orders on Jan. 20 intended to boost energy production and declaring a national energy emergency.

Several of the Democratic congresswomen have courted controversy during their tenure. Border czar Tom Homan questioned if a February webinar Ocasio-Cortez held advised illegal immigrants on how to avoid United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), prompting Ocasio-Cortez to ask the Justice Department if she was the subject of a criminal probe.

Clark’s transgender child was arrested in January 2023 and charged with assaulting a police officer and vandalism while participating in a riot stemming from an Antifa protest.

Daily Caller News Foundation investigative reporter Phil Lenczycki reported on Chu’s ties to a Chinese Communist Party front organization, the Forums for Peaceful Reunification of China, including being named as the organization’s honorary chair.

Crockett has been an outspoken critic of Trump, including admitting she was “rooting for” other countries like Mexico and Canada that were “speaking truth to power” via their opposition to Trump. Crockett also took an insulting tone with Republican Rep. Nancy Mace of South Carolina during a January hearing when the two clashed over biological men in women’s spaces and has uncorked racially-charged rants in the past.
