How Can Parental Involvement Ever Be Questioned

I saw an article in the Maine Wire this weekend about a case that is to be heard by the Supreme Court regarding Maryland parents’ challenge to a ban on opting their young children out of storybook readings in Maryland elementary schools about pride parades, gender transitions, and drag queens. I was scanning the headlines quickly and had to reread this one a couple of times in disbelief. How low have we dipped as a society that we need to discuss these topics in early grades and for the government, through the Department of Education, to mandate students be exposed to them? Have we lost all semblance of decency and eliminated the control the parents have over their children once they enter the doors of their schools? School boards and administrations deny any dissenting views by parents to the point the Biden administration and FBI deemed any parent who rose against their local school board was a domestic terrorist. We have school administrators and teachers protecting students who identify as the opposite gender from their parents, and now the continuing effort to indoctrinate our children has reached a new pinnacle. We have states, like Maine, that have declared as sanctuary environments for adolescents who want access to abortion or trans services without parental consent. Apparently, when Hillary Clinton said it takes a village, her village intended to sever all ties between parents and their children. This ludicrous belief system needs to end, and that end can start with the Supreme Court ruling in favor of the parents in this case.

In this case, a group of Muslim and Christian parents wanted their children not to be included in these “teaching” sessions and were denied. The Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals found 2-1 last year that the parent’s free exercise rights were not burdened because the school board had not compelled them to “change their religious beliefs or conduct.”

Simply hearing about other views does not exert pressure to believe or act differently than one’s religious faith requires,” the court held.

The United States Supreme Court agreed to take up the case in January, and, hopefully, they can shed some sanity on this situation, unless they have lost their collective minds, too.

So, what is the end game here? It is difficult for a rational mind to try and ascertain the thinking of the deranged. The Left wants to give every mother the right to abort their baby up to, and in some cases beyond birth. Should you choose to have your baby, the Left then wants to assume control of the child from the first day of kindergarten. They want to teach them only the history as they see it. They want to give them a subpar education that will leave them ill-prepared for the future. They want to indoctrinate them with every social and Woke philosophy they can so they can no longer think for themselves, and they want parents out of the picture so there is no resistance to their efforts. We have reached the bizarro world.

The Trump administration has already publicly backed the families in this case, and with the dismantling of the Department of Education, maybe local school districts will not feel imported so empowered to make suck controversial, alright, stupid decisions. We can only hope and pray that the Supreme Court sides with the 80/20 on this case.
