SHAMEFUL: House Dems Shout ‘No’ When Boebert Requests Spoken Prayer For Charlie Kirk

House Democrat lawmakers could be heard Wednesday shouting “no” after Colorado Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert requested a spoken prayer for Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, who was killed during a TPUSA event.

Kirk, 31, was shot during a speaking event at Utah Valley University, leaving behind his wife and two children. While on the House floor, Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson asked for Boebert’s request.

“What purpose does a gentlelady from Colorado rise?” Johnson asked.

Lawmakers could be heard softly speaking over Boebert, prompting Johnson to shush them. Boebert then asked if they could take a moment to pray out loud for Kirk.

“No!” Democrat lawmakers could be heard shouting back.

During Boebert’s request, the Colorado representative reportedly stated that “silent prayers get silent results,” accordingto Politico’s Nicholas Wu.

As Johnson tried to shush the crowd again, Republican Florida Rep. Anna Paulina Luna stepped in, yelling, “Y’all caused this!” before continuing with expletives.

Kirk, who frequently spoke on campuses to debate students on political beliefs, had been at Utah Valley University on Wednesday with a large crowd around his booth. During the event, videos began circulating online showing Kirk being shot while speaking to a student.

A university spokesperson told the Daily Caller that Kirk was shot from a building about 200 yards away. Security rushed him to a car to get him to the hospital, where he was initially in stable condition but later succumbed to his injuries.

“Let’s, let’s, let’s wait a minute. Wait a minute!” Johnson said as he pounded the gavel, with Luna continuing to yell at Democrat lawmakers. “The house will be in order.”

Johnson continued trying to bring the House “in order,” eventually telling Boebert they would join in prayer after the floor session. According to Wu, several Democrats allegedly shouted that a school shooting had also occurred in Colorado that same day, but Johnson ultimately gaveled the chamber down.

At least four students were injured at Evergreen High School in Colorado after a shooter opened fire on campus. As of Wednesday afternoon, three were in critical condition and the fourth’s condition remained unknown.
