Multiple pro-Palestine hecklers disrupted former Vice President Kamala Harris’s book tour Saturday in Chicago as she promoted her memoir, “107 Days.”
While Harris talked about her book with journalist Michael Norris, one woman stood up and began screaming that Harris supported the genocide in Gaza, prompting several people calling on security to escort her out of the event, video posted to social media shows. Security soon followed through and removed her from the event.
“Your legacy is genocide!” the woman said. “This is what you did. You paved the way for everything that is currently going on.”

Harris responded that the heckler should address this issue to President Donald Trump.
“You know what? I am not president of the United States. You wanna go to the White House and talk to him, then go on and do that,” Harris said, prompting cheers and applause from others in the audience.
Another protester was recorded standing up and shouting that Harris is a “war criminal,” before a male heckler cried out that her “legacy is genocide.”
Harris’s book tours suffered several disruptions from pro-Palestine activists, including during an event in New York City in which Harris also told the hecklers she was not president and had no power to address the Israel-Hamas war.
The former vice president’s book, which details her failed 2024 campaign against Trump, has sparked backlash from those within her own party. Many advisers called her book “divisive” and an embarrassment for herself and the Democratic party.
Israel and Hamas formally agreed to the first phase of Trump’s proposed deal to end the war, which involves releasing all hostages and a withdrawal of Israel’s troops to a designated position in Gaza. Trump will travel Sunday afternoon to Israel in celebration of the agreement.
