Will the Democrat Party Survive this Transformation

The quick answer to this highly complex question is, No. The question deserves a more nuanced explanation than a single word, and I hope I can do it justice. The truth is that both Parties have been morphing for the last couple of decades. On the surface, the Republicans used to represent the rich, and the Democrats used to be the blue-collar, bologna sandwich representing the working class. The two Parties have actually switched, with the Republicans getting the union vote, as well as the Black and Latino votes. The Teamsters had a difficult moment in 2024. Their rank and file liked Trump, but the union heads could not give Donald the support. They did attend and speak at the RNC while snubbing the DNC for the first time in its history.

Today, the changes have gone far deeper. The Democrats have lost the youth, young workers, union workers, and even legal immigrants, who are offended by Democratic support for illegals. The inner city voters are leaving the Democrats because of the soft-on-crime policies of Democratic DAs. It was the combination of all of these metrics that cost Kamala the 2024 race; that, and the absurd things coming from her mouth in the playground down the road. The changes are so dramatic that it seems the two parties switched sides. The Republicans are doing a far better job of messaging and letting voters know who they are supporting.

The Democrats have allowed the Squad, the radical wing of the Party, to become far too powerful. As a group, they have produced little legislatively, but as a voting block, they can impact every piece of legislation. It is the fear of the Left that prompted Schumer to allow a shutdown rather than pass the Continuing Resolution to allow debate on the budget to continue. Schumer is feeling the pressure personally as Congresswoman Sanchez is creating rumblings that she will primary Schumer in 2028. He will be 77 at that time and should be thinking of retiring, but it may take being beaten by Cortez to get him to leave Washington.

By the time the midterms roll around, we will have two years of history on New York City and Minneapolis under Socialist control. This info will be used by the Republicans to trash the Democrats for allowing these two candidates to be elected. It will be just another nail in the coffin of the Democrat Party.

The Democratic Party of Kennedy, Johnson, Mondale, and O’Neil is long gone. Those boys rode into the sunset with the Party falling into quicksand. Today, Jeffries and Schumer are wading through the rubble, hoping to piece together the band for one more encore. There are not enough pieces left to make anything worthwhile, and it is time for leadership to raise the white flag, surrender, and rebuild. I cannot wait to see what animal they choose for the new Party. My vote is for the Hyena.
