Newsom’s Wife Melts Down Over Trump, Swears Kids Will Never Accept Him As President

Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s wife, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, went berserk over President Donald Trump’s time in office on Monday during a press conference, swearing her children will never consider Trump “an acceptable American leader.”

Speaking alongside other Democratic leaders urging Californians to support Newsom’s redistricting measure, Proposition 50, Siebel Newsom took the stage to deliver her remarks. While addressing supporters, she attacked Trump’s leadership, describing him as the “exact opposite” of what “real strength” looks like.

“I will tell you right now, I will not raise my children to think Donald Trump is an acceptable American leader. Nor that he is what the leader of our great country should behave like. I won’t raise them to think his terror enables his power and that his greed equals success,” Siebel Newsom said. “He is the exact opposite of what real strength looks like.”

“So in our house, Gavin and I will continue to teach our kids what strength really looks like. If you see someone sitting alone at a table, you invite them to your table. If you see someone being bullied, you speak up and ask an adult for help. You always, always tell the truth. Maybe if Donald Trump’s parents had taught him any of these lessons, they wouldn’t be in this mess,” Siebel Newsom added.

Since President Donald Trump’s return to office, Newsom and the president have repeatedly sparred in the media and online. In recent months, Newsom’s press office has attacked Trump, attempting to mimic the president’s and Republicans’ posting style on X.

Siebel Newsom went on to rail against Trump during the press conference, calling him the “worst president” — a line that drew loud applause from the crowd.

“On the contrary, Trump is enriching his immediate family and cronies. He is stripping away our rights and our democracy. When he knows he’s going to lose, he cheats. When the game isn’t rigged for him, he rigs it himself,” Siebel Newsom continued. “Sometimes no is a full sentence, trust me. That’s right. But Donald Trump’s never accepted no for an answer. He’s a con artist, a predator, a malignant narcissist, insheep, and the worst president in our nation’s history.”

Newsom unveiled Prop 50 on Aug. 14, ordering a special election for voters to approve or reject the “Election Rigging Response Act,” which would implement new “temporary” congressional district maps through 2030.

The gerrymandering attempt from California Democrats came shortly after Texas lawmakers proposed a new redistricting map for their state, with some Republicans arguing the move was necessary due to the influx of residents who moved into the state during and after 2020.

While Newsom has publicly acknowledged having Republican relatives, the Democrat governor faced backlash after appearing to backpedal comments about how assassinated Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk influenced his son.

Before Kirk’s death, Newsom told the TPUSA founder during a podcast interview that his 13-year-old son loved listening to Kirk and frequently tuned in to his content. However, during an October CNN interview, Newsom walked back the remark, insisting his son wasn’t “a fan” of Kirk but merely “familiar” with him.
