MTG Alleges Trump Had To Make Deal With Israel To Become President

Former Republican Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene alleged Wednesday that President Donald Trump had to make a deal with Israel to be elected president.

Greene said on “The Tucker Carlson Show” that Trump would not have been able to become president if he did not agree to show allegiance to Israel, which she argued had more power over the U.S. than any other foreign country. The war has led to ongoing questions about Israel’s influence over U.S. foreign policy.

“To become president of the United States, there’s deals that have to be made. Otherwise, you aren’t allowed to have that power,” Greene said. “And you can go president by president throughout time and especially throughout our lifetimes, and you can look at every single president and look at their career and the decisions that they made and you can very quickly see that they made their deal to support Israel at all times. Why does the United States of America do that for one foreign country? It makes absolutely no sense. We don’t do that for any other foreign country.”

“No other government on Earth does every single U.S. president, the vast majority of members of Congress completely pledge their allegiance … They pledge their complete allegiance to the government of Israel and their purpose and their protection … I believe that Trump had to make a deal like this in order to become president,” Greene continued.

Greene added that the U.S. government should support the American peoples’ interests over any foreign country. She said the U.S. entering a war with Iran on behalf of Israel did not benefit Americans in any way.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other Israeli officials convinced Trump to launch strikes against Israel during their visit to the White House on Feb. 11, The New York Times reported on April 7. Several U.S. cabinet officials, including Vice President J.D. Vance, described their reasoning for striking Iran as “farcical” and voiced skepticism about Israel’s plan for regime change.

Trump agreed to Netanyahu’s plan and reportedly remained committed to killing the ayatollah and destroying Iran’s military, according to the Times.

Former Director of the National Counterterrorism Center Joe Kent resigned from the administration in March over the Iran war, stating that the war began “due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby.”

The Trump administration claimed Iran posed an imminent threat to the U.S., though they have not specified what the threat was. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the U.S. preemptively launched strikes because Israel’s planned attack on Iran could have potentially caused American casualties.
