Rudy Giuliani Hospitalized, In Critical-But-Stable Condition

Former Republican New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani is in critical condition and receiving treatment in a hospital, according to a statement released Sunday.

The exact details of the ailment which led to his hospitalization were not immediately disclosed. Spokesperson Ted Goodman posted the Sunday evening announcement to X.

“Mayor Rudy Giuliani is currently in the hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition,” the statement reads. “Mayor Giuliani is a fighter who has faced every challenge in his life with unwavering strength, and he’s fighting with that same level of strength as we speak. We do ask that you join us in prayer for America’s Mayor-Rudy Giuliani.”

President Donald Trump shortly thereafter confirmed Giuliani was in the hospital via a Truth Social post.

“Our fabulous Rudy Giuliani, a True Warrior, and the Best Mayor in the History of New York City, BY FAR, has been hospitalized, and is in critical condition,” Trump said. “What a tragedy that he was treated so badly by the Radical Left Lunatics, Democrats ALL — AND HE WAS RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING! They cheated on the Elections, fabricated hundreds of stories, did anything possible to destroy our Nation, and now, look at Rudy. So sad!”

Giuliani, observed coughing during a Friday livestream on Facebook but otherwise appearing to be in good spirits, admitted his voice was “under the weather.”

“I can’t speak as loudly as I usually do, but I’ll get closer to the microphone,” Giuliani said.

Giuliani previously suffered serious injuries in an August 2025 car accident in New Hampshire when he stopped to assist a domestic violence victim. His car was struck at high speed after he contacted emergency services to assist the woman, according to his head of security.

In addition to being mayor of New York City during the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, Giuliani served as an attorney for Trump, handing multiple cases, including his effort to contest the results of the 2020 election. Trump pardoned Giuliani and others involved in his legal challenges after the 2020 election in 2025, The Associated Press reported.
