Lindsay Clancy Did It! Period.

The trial of Lindsay Clancy is gripping America and is the lead story on nearly every newscast.

Unfortunately, this sad story will not end when the jury returns with its verdict, as the nine-woman and three-man jury deliberating in Plymouth, Massachusetts, will probably return a not-guilty verdict.

Having served on a jury for a month and being in the jury room after four different trials, I know firsthand what happens in those chambers. The deliberations on the evidence and testimony evolve into negotiation to reach the parameters set by the judge as efficiently as possible. Many will abandon their beliefs to go along with the majority. In Clancy’s case, there is little chance the twelve jurors will reach a unanimous decision on any one of the four possible directives the judge has given them.

As I write this article, the jurors are home talking to friends and relatives despite the judge’s directive not to, and everyone has an opinion. They are watching the news and seeing the video of groups of women dressed in pink supporting Clancy and calling for justice for this child killer. They will be influenced by what they see and hear outside the jury room.

I am disgusted by the supporters of Lindsay Clancy, but at this point, I should not be surprised that half the country has lost their collective mind. I should not be shocked that people can gather and call for justice for the mother who has admitted to strangling her three young children to death. The truth about who is the victim in this case has been blurred to the point that a high percentage of people have forgotten the three young lives that were snuffed out by their mother, and see her as the real victim and are looking for mercy and peace for Lindsay. Where are the signs asking for mercy and peace for three innocent children? The last thing they saw on this earth was the face of their mother, who was ending their young lives with her hands around their throats.

Reality and common sense have been replaced by feelings and perception in this new upside-down world. The people holding signs calling for justice for Lindsay are probably the same people who celebrated Luigi Mangione after he killed UnitedHealthcare CEO, Brian Thompson. These people believe the state of the insurance industry is justification for someone gunning down an industry CEO. They support the many young men who have attempted to assassinate President Donald Trump because the orange-man has done so much damage to America. These people believe that Charlie Kirk got what he deserved because, in their minds, he was a racist.

In a land of free speech, it is difficult to hold these supporters at fault. They are as ignorant and oblivious as the reporters who are so concerned with Lindsay’s emotional state. At some point, the sane people on the Right must rise and snuff out the weak and complicit excuses that allow people to kill those they do not agree with, claiming that they are making life a little challenging for them.

Hopefully, this era of insanity is just a phase, and the world will soon return to equilibrium, but the noise from those who are off the rails must be minimized. Rationality must return and become the rule, not the exception.
