Holding Holder to The Truth

Operation Gunrunner has been in the news a fair amount of late. Mostly the deal was this:

“The undercover operation carried out by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives which intentionally allowed large numbers of firearms to be bought in this country by so-called ‘straw purchasers,’ and then sent across the border to Mexico’s drug cartels, known as ‘Operation Gunrunner” as well as “Fast and Furious” is starting to look very much like the Iran/Contra scandal of the 1980’s.

The parallels are astounding.”(1)

This same article source goes on to say this:

“[Recently, Sen. Charles Grassley (R-IA) questioned Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano on her knowledge of the program.

Though there was apparently at least one U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement agent in the Phoenix area, working with the ATF in the operation, Napolitano denied any involvement or knowledge of the operation.]”

Janitor Napolitano…can you spell P-E-R-J-U-R-Y? And also this:

“[Obama said: “Well, first of all I did not authorize it. Eric Holder, the Attorney General, did not authorize it. He’s been very clear that our policy is to catch gun runners and put them into jail. So what he’s done is he’s assigned an I.G., an inspector general, to investigate what exactly happened.”]”

One wonders if he’ll suffer the same fate as Gerald Walpin did as IG when he spoke the truth!

You may find this VERY CURIOUS after reading this excerpt:

“[I would like to thank the Mexican and U.S. experts who have worked so hard on this issue.  On our side, Secretary Napolitano and I are committed to putting the resources in place to increase our attack on arms trafficking into Mexico.

Last week, our administration launched a major new effort to break the backs of the cartels.  My department is committing 100 new ATF personnel to the Southwest border in the next 100 days to supplement our ongoing Project Gunrunner, DEA is adding 16 new positions on the border, as well as mobile enforcement teams, and the FBI is creating a new intelligence group focusing on kidnapping and extortion.  DHS is making similar commitments, as Secretary Napolitano will detail.]”(2)*

*Of all possible ironies, can you dig this source?

The little kid’s chant of  “LIAR, LIAR…PANTS ON FIRE” comes to mind.  This is the second coming of the late Jimmy Breslin’s great laugher “The Gang That Couldn’t Shoot Straight”.

Can you spell three seats at the defendant’s table for

I-M-P-E-A-C-H-M-E-N-T?
