Dems: Focus on the Future…Or Blame Bush

This week key Democratic strategist James Carville offered a critical analysis of the Obama election strategy. In a recent editorial for Democracy Corps, Carville and fellow strategist Stan Greenberg promote a change in the Democratic narrative shifting the focus to a better future for the middle class.

In the face of such criticism one might think Democrats would pivot and finally stop blaming Bush. However, a recent interview on CNN by Erin Burnett demonstrates that many Democrats have still not gotten the memo. Listen as Gene Sperling, Director of the National Economic Council continues to place the blame on the past administration with no real focus on the future. Can continued past reflection enthuse enough voters to help reelect Obama? Or will Team Obama finally pivot toward jobs and start focusing on the future?
