Al Franken’s conservative opponent Mike McFadden is closing in the polls as he makes the rounds of rural Minnesota. McFadden met with a small but enthusiastic crowd in Rochester to talk about health care Friday. The opponents met for a debate in Duluth on Wednesday. You can see the full debate on You Tube here.
The latest polling from Real Clear politics has McFadden closing within 8-9 points on the incumbent Franken. In 2008 Franken trailed his opponent Norm Coleman but about the same amount but won by a slim margin of 312 votes after a long legal wrangle and vote recounts.
