In his weekly address, House Speaker Paul Ryan read from a memo showing that the Obama administration intends to turn a military pay raise into a political weapon.
Ryan was briefing reporters on the status of the Defense Authorization Bill when he read from a memo from the Pentagon in which it said the President should veto the raise to use “as a principle weapon at our disposal” so that they could “play hardball” in the negotiations. It is now on Obama’s Defense Secretary Ash Carter to disavow the memo and negotiate for what’s best for those who serve in the military.
