Donald Trump’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was vandalized and destroyed with a sledgehammer and pickax on Wednesday, October 26, less than two weeks ahead of the 2016 presidential election.
The fake construction man told reporters that his name is James Otis and that he was trying to extract the star to auction it off, but clearly, his ham-handed method of star-extraction wasn’t going to leave him much to auction off.
The suspect started the vandalism at approximately 5:45am with a few spectators watching, but when a police cruiser stopped by 30 minutes later, the vandal was gone leaving only the damage below:
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce said they will be repairing Donald’s star and that in the future “when people are unhappy with one of our honorees, we would hope that they would project their anger in more positive ways.”
*UPDATE*
James Otis posted this confession to YouTube:
First, James Otis convicts Donald Trump of sexual assault without proof. Democrats conveniently paraded women accusing Trump of trying to kiss them, without any corroborating eye-witnesses or accounts. In fact, far more discrediting witnesses have come forward.
Otis goes on to say that he’d “love to go to court with Mr. Trump. It would be an honor.” The only problem being that the matter won’t require Donald Trump’s interaction at all. The star is the property of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and only they would need to appear in court for any civil action. For malicious mischieve (vandalism), Mr. Ortis will only be facing the D.A. Since this damage likely exceeds $400, he’s looking at up to a year in jail/prison and up to a $10,000 fine according to California law.
