Democrat Dumpster Fire Burns Brightly After DeVos Debacle

You have to hand it to the Democrats, like the Atlanta Falcons they have few equals when it comes to losing ugly.

Senate Dems dug in and hoped for a big victory that would turn the tide against the hated President Donald Trump but once again came up short as Betsy DeVos was confirmed as the new Secretary of Education.

After much obstruction capped off by a week of hysterical fear-mongering, the Senate sealed the deal with Vice President Mike Pence casting the deciding vote.

The Democrats and their surrogates lobbied hard – going so far as to hold an overnight temper tantrum – but were only able to peel away two Republicans. Senators Susan Collins of Maine and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska joined with Dems which doesn’t come as any real shock considering that both had expressed support for Hillary Clinton.

President Donald Trump’s choice of billionaire Betsy DeVos to be education secretary was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on Tuesday, but only after Vice President Mike Pence was called in to break a tie that threatened to defeat her.

The tie-breaking vote, which Senate officials said was unprecedented to confirm a Cabinet nominee, followed an all-night debate on DeVos as Senate Democrats tried to pressure at least one more Republican to oppose her and defeat the nomination.

Only two Republicans joined the 46 Democrats and two independents in opposition to DeVos. Critics have called her unprepared to lead the Department of Education after a rocky Senate confirmation hearing.

Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer immediately derided the proceeding.

“This cabinet nom is so unqualified, so divisive, that @MikePenceVP had to drive down Pennsylvania Ave to cast the deciding vote,” he wrote in a Twitter post after the vote.

Schumer was quick to slam the confirmation and no matter how many fake tears that Wall Street’s senator manages to shed, the ugly truth is that he is leading a minority party that has zero political power after their November surprise slapped them upside the head.

The big slumber party to block DeVos turned out so well that Democrats are holding another all-nighter in order to rail against Trump Attorney General nominee Jeff Sessions who should sail through without Pence having to make the drive down Pennsylvania Avenue.

Look for the race card to be played early and often by Obama v.2 aka Cory Booker along with much shrieking from fake Indian Elizabeth “Fauxahontas” Warren but nobody will be watching outside from forlorn insomniac moonbats tuned into C-SPAN.

Nobody was angrier than porcine leftist filmmaker Michael Moore who has emerged to fill the post-Obama leadership void as the voice of the modern Democratic party.

Moore took to Twitter to rail against the failure to sink DeVos despite having lured the two turncoats across the aisle:

The looming fiasco of Democrats to stop Sessions from moving on to clean up Loretta Lynch’s mess at the Justice Department means that they have decided that the battle over Trump SCOTUS nominee Neil Gorsuch is the hill that they have chosen to die on.

It’s clear that the blue jackass party has learned absolutely nothing since their election beatdown, especially the unspoken rule of politics: when you are in a hole stop digging, don’t ask for a bigger shovel.
