The REAL Russian Connection

One of the hot topics in the news – especially the liberal elite media – has been the dust up about the “Russian connection” between former NSA Director Flynn, Russia and perhaps President Trump.

In a news conference Friday, President Trump blasted the media about this and rightly directed them to the real danger of leaks within the intelligence community. He also corrected the media reports by saying, as he should have, that Flynn had done nothing wrong by contacting the Russian Ambassador.  Certainly, this should give us far less concern than the deal Hillary Clinton made to transfer 20% of our Uranium to Russia, as the President noted, or the Obama Iran nuclear deal for that matter! Lest we forget back when Obama was meeting with the Russian President and leaned in to whisper, on a hot mic, that he would “have more flexibility” to deal with Russia after his re-election in a manner presumably more advantageous to Russia. Funny how the media elite didn’t cry out hysterically for investigations into a Russian “connection” then.

Which leads me to something that did not come up at the press conference with the President. Something that should indeed cause us to pause when we consider how dangerous an enemy such as Russia could be. There is a real Russian “connection” and it should indeed really concern us. That is the connection between Russia and Iran which can only serve to make our world far more dangerous and imperiled than it already is. To be clear, when I say “we” should be concerned I mean the people of our nation as a whole. I do not mean President Trump should be concerned because he is concerned about the real Russian “connection” as he showed in his meeting and presser with Israel’s PM Benjamin Netanyahu. If I thought the liberal elite media would listen to common sense, I would appeal to them. However, they have proved to be anything but sensible and any appeal to what little ethics they may still possess is useless.

Here are some indisputable facts about the real Russian “connection”. One is that Iran is the world’s leading sponsor of Islamic terrorism. Another indisputable fact is that the Iran nuclear deal we have engaged in thanks to the previous administration directly connects the Russians to the Iranians enabling the sale to Iran of a sophisticated air defense system which could prevent strikes against their nuclear facilities! https://www.businessinsider.com/why-russian-s-300-sale-to-iran-is-a-big-deal-2015-6

It appears to this observer that we are being distracted, intentionally or not, from this very real and dangerous connection between Russian and Iran by all the sensationalized coverage of some kind of terrible phone conversation between a private citizen and an ambassador! We as a nation cannot afford to ignore the REAL Russian Connection here. I believe our new President realizes this, and our world remains at peril unless we all realize this as well.
