BRACKETBUSTER! Down Goes Villanova

The NCAA men’s college basketball tournament has been relatively quiet up until now in terms of upsets but that just changed on Saturday afternoon.

Reigning champion Villanova was taken down by a relentless Wisconsin Badgers team in a defeat that has devastated brackets from sea to shining sea.

It was a bad omen for the now deposed champs after power forward Kris Jenkins got into foul trouble early on and the whistles contributed to Villanova’s eventual doom.

Wisconsin opened strong and then held off a furious second half by the Wildcats to set up a Sweet Sixteen showdown with Virginia next week.

Fortunately for this humble author I picked Duke to come out of the East and barring an upset by South Carolina tomorrow look to be in good position for at least one of my Final Four choices.

March Madness has arrived!!
