Congressional Baseball Game is Still On – Here’s how to get tickets or Donate

The annual Congressional Baseball Game for charity will still be played even after a left-wing maniac shot a Congressman, aide and two Capitol Police officers at the Republican practice on Wednesday morning.

Many that weren’t planning on attending have now decided to go in a show of unity and to push back at the caustic political rhetoric that may have launched the attack.

Since 1909 the Congressional Baseball Game has been the only annual partisan showdown beloved by all and enjoyed by thousands. Every year, with a few interruptions, Senate and House members of each party team up to settle scores and solidify friendships off the floor and on the field. Members usually sport the uniform of their home states and districts, and although proportional representation is not required, elected officials of many states play to win every year.

The game will be played a Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. on Thursday, June 15 at 7:05 PM Eastern Time. The series between Republican and Democratic members of Congress is currently tied at 39 wins each and one game that resulted in a tie.

For one night each year, politicians put aside their partisan differences and battle it out on the diamond. This annual event pits Republican Members of Congress vs. Democratic Members of Congress in a game of fast pitch baseball. But no matter what the scoreboard reads, the real winners are the charities that benefit from the tens of thousands of dollars raised.

Proceeds of the game will go to the Boys & Girls Clubs, the Nationals Dream Foundation and the Washington Literacy Center.

Tickets cost $10 for general admission and $15 for reserved seats. They can be purchased HERE.

If you want to give but can’t make the game, there are donation opportunities listed on the Congressional Baseball Facebook Page.

Sponsorship opportunities are also available for $1000 and up.

Gates will open at 5:30 PM.
