The left has been getting away with promoting violence against President Donald Trump in an unprecedented manner and it’s beginning to manifest itself in popular culture.
Normally even implied threats that threaten the POTUS are considered a serious matter and merit investigation from the U.S. Secret Service. But liberals are pushing the envelope these days with rappers, actors, comedians and media figures all promoting the idea that violence or the assassination of Trump is acceptable.
This is the case with the New York City based thespians who have been putting on their performances of Shakespeare in the Park with Trump as Julius Caesar and a bloody, mock assassination of the character.
While the liberals are eating it up, the sponsors are beginning to understand that their financial support of such a despicable glorification of murder is not the image that they want their corporations to be associated with.
According to Fox News “Sponsors flee New York City theater company over Trump-killing scene”:
Delta Air Lines and Bank of America became the first companies to announce that they are pulling their sponsorships of a Manhattan-based theater company’s portrayal of Julius Caesar as a Donald Trump look-alike in a business suit who gets stabbed to death on stage.
Delta and Bank of America both announced their intentions on Sunday.
“No matter what your political stance may be, the graphic staging of Julius Caesar at this summer’s Free Shakespeare in the Park does not reflect Delta Air Lines’ values,” the company’s statement said. “Their artistic and creative direction crossed the line on the standards of good taste.”
Bank of America added it was withdrawing funding for the production.
“The Public Theater chose to present Julius Caesar in such a way that was intended to provoke and offend,” the bank said in a tweet. “Had this intention been made known to us, we would have decided not to sponsor it.”
President Trump’s son Donald Trump Jr. was outraged and tweeted a question as to whether the play was being partially funded by taxpayers:
But best of all, the nest of venomous Trump haters at CNN have another issue with one of their hosts who encouraged all to go to the play – Fareed Zakaria.
CNN now must decide how to deal with Zakaria after cutting ties with Kathy Griffin and Reza Aslan whose Trump Derangement Syndrome made them a liability. The two were low enough on the totem pole to protect the marquee names who serve as the front line propagandists in the war on the Trump administration.
While it is long overdue, it’s about time that corporations quit spending money on forums for hate because it is bad for business in the long run.
