Could Democrat Establishment Be Looking to Get Rid of Crazy Bernie?

Now that at least some of the more rational elements of the Democratic Party establishment are cautioning against the looming electoral debacle due to a shift to the extreme left, a once unthinkable move may be in the making.

Crazy Bernie Sanders, the raving socialist crank who has managed to create a mini-movement of what can only be called Commie-Lite may be facing a primary challenge for his U.S. Senate seat in Vermont.

A Hillary Clinton ally named Jon Svitavsky has launched an attack on the old goat blaming him for President Donald Trump’s election win.

This could be the opportune time for Democrats to launch an internal “Night of the Long Knives” style purge of the unruly rabble.

Sanders is suddenly vulnerable due to the ongoing FBI probe into him and his wife Jane over bank fraud and improper use of influence regarding a loan for Burlington College, where Mrs. Bernie used to rule the roost.

Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt. is one of the country’s most popular political figures, but opponents hope an ongoing FBI investigation and his national ambitions could make him vulnerable at home.

Sanders’ record of winning with landslide margins in Vermont has scared off any would-be Democratic opponents since his first Senate campaign over a decade ago.

But on Friday, the former 2016 presidential hopeful drew an opponent for his expected reelection campaign next year.

Jon Svitavsky, a homeless advocate who has never held public office, tore into Sanders for undercutting Hillary Clinton and the Democratic party during last year’s presidential primaries.

“I hold him absolutely, centrally responsible for Donald Trump being president,” Svitavsky told NBC News, expressing a view held by other Clinton loyalists. “That’s my number one issue.”

He said that within hours of “soft-launching” his campaign, he had already heard from thousands of people across the country who want to donate or volunteer. “There’s a lot of anger out there in my party against Bernie,” Svitavsky said.

The political novice, who clashed with Sanders over homelessness policy in Vermont in the past, thinks Democrats need to stop “coddling” the senator.

“I believe that Bernie Sanders’ entire involvement with the Democratic party has been devastating,” he said. “I think it was a big mistake for the Democratic party to let him in in the first place.”

And Svitavsky said Vermont voters are concerned by the FBI investigation into the finances of Burlington College, a small school Sanders’ wife ran before it shut down under the weight of a bank loan she took out.

“It’s a very serious investigation,” said Svitavsky, who graduated from the school.

The shift away from blaming Russia for Trump’s election win to attacking Bernie is an interesting development and shows that the Clinton crime family still has its hooks in the Democrat apparatus and holds one helluva grudge.

If and when the party establishment does decide to send old Bernie to sleep with the fishes it will infuriate the radicals who will find themselves fighting a two-front war.
