Robber Ends Up Wearing a Toe Tag After Messing With the Wrong Old Man

An attempted robbery went badly wrong for the perpetrator when the elderly target turned the tables on him by fighting back with deadly force.

The senior citizen quite simply bludgeoned 48-year-old Rodolfo Rosa to death, a heart-warming happy ending that should inspire seniors everywhere to fight back rather than allow themselves to be victimized by thugs.

According to reports, the robber forcibly attempted to enter 69-year-old Cecil Brown’s home, a grave miscalculation that ended up with the attacker wearing a toe tag at the local morgue.

The New York Post is reporting “Elderly man kills home invader during fight”:

An elderly Brooklyn man with a cane turned the tables on a home invader — beating him to death when the robber pushed his way into the senior’s Crown Heights home Sunday, police sources said.

The doomed robber — identified by police as Rodolfo Rosa, 48, of Arlington, Va. — had barged his way into the Union Street apartment of gray-haired Cecil Brown around 10 a.m., cops said.

The tough-as-nails senior resident, who walks with the help of a cane, then used an object from his home to bludgeon the invader during the life-and-death melee that ensued, police said.

Rosa was left with severe head trauma, police sources said.

He was pronounced dead at Kings County Hospital at about 11 a.m., police said.

It was not immediately clear what Brown used to fatally beat Rosa, according to police sources.

According to the New York Post follow-up story, the bad-assed senior citizen provided additional details of the incident.

Brown used a variety of items to fend off the assailant including a coat rack, a shopping cart and his walker, just about everything but the kitchen sink.

The follow-up story provides Mr. Brown’s account:

Brown added he didn’t know the man had died until told by The Post.

“Oh, no,” Brown said when told the news.

Brown, appearing disoriented, insisted that the man he killed — identified by cops as Rodolfo Rosa, 48, of Arlington, Va. — barged his way into his home at 1776 Union St. around 10 a.m. Sunday and attacked him.

“I went to the apartment door, and somebody opened the door,” Brown said.

“The door hit me. The picture fell off the wall and hit me. The person is pushing me. I have different things in the hallway, stands . . . hitting me.

“Whatever is being flung at me, I’m flinging it back as best I could as I’m falling backwards,’’ Brown said.

“I was hitting this person very viciously, because I couldn’t get any room to breathe,” he said. “The coat rack hit me. I pushed it right back. I pushed the coat rack [and] the walker at the person. The shopping cart hit me, [and] I pushed the shopping cart at the person.”

He said Rosa said nothing during the incident but was making “animal noises.”

Police sources revealed Monday that the senior has at least a half-dozen prior arrests, at least some for drug-related offenses.

Police suspect that the robber may have been let into the building by a crack-head but are still investigating the incident.
