President Donald Trump may soon put National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster on the other side of the planet.
According to a report earlier this week, Trump could send McMaster to Afghanistan to command American forces there – a move that could earn McMaster his fourth star and open a spot on the National Security Council that may be filled with current CIA director Mike Pompeo.
The president is unhappy with the progress in Afghanistan and the options given to him by national security officials.
NBC reported that Trump was considering firing General John Nicholson, Jr., the current commander of forces in the region.
The moves come after several members of the NSC were pushed out by McMaster as he sought to replace the anti-globalist Trump loyalists with … something else.
McMaster also wrote Susan Rice a letter wherein he left her security clearance in place despite the discovered unmasking of 10’s if not hundreds of innocent Americans.
McMaster has been at odds with the president, Steve Bannon and Jared Kushner on multiple occasions.
