The White House Press Office has announced that Homeland Security Advisor Tom Bossart will hold a late-scheduled briefing on the WannaCry malware attack.
Bossart is expected to discuss the assertion that North Korea was to blame for the ransomare attack that infected more than 230,000 computer systems in over 150 countries earlier this year.
“The attack was widespread and cost billions, and North Korea is directly responsible,” Tom Bossert, Trump’s homeland security adviser, said in an op-ed published in the Wall Street Journal on Monday. “We do not make this allegation lightly. It is based on evidence. We are not alone with our findings, either.”
The briefing is expected to start at 9:00 a.m. EST.
