Barring a Miracle, Tom Brady Will Win Sixth Super Bowl Ring Today

All of the hype and hoopla of the most over-saturated two weeks in sports will finally come to an end this evening when the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles meet to determine who will win the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

It isn’t looking good for the Eagles either.

Despite the loss of budding superstar quarterback Carson Wentz who could be the next Tom Brady, Philly still managed to nail down the all-important homefield advantage in the playoffs and dispense with the Atlanta Falcons and Minnesota Vikings to make it to the big dance.

Other than the loss of Wentz, the Eagles biggest problem is that they have to face the REAL Tom Brady who at 40-years-old is looking to add the sixth trophy to the New England Patriots’ case and get his own sixth ring in the process.

Only a fool would bet against Brady accomplishing both at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

The Patriots once again showed that they are all but invincible in Foxborough when the weather turns cold and the games matter. Even if it did take some chicanery on the part of the NFL replay command bunker in New York to overturn an obvious Pittsburgh Steelers touchdown in a game that determined homefield advantage in the AFC, the Patriots have advanced to their tenth Super Bowl.

They made mincemeat out of the hopelessly overmatched Tennessee Titans in the opening game and then beat the upstart Jacksonville Jaguars in the championship thanks to Blake Bortles being unable to make a play during crunch time.

The Patriots should have no problem in putting the Eagles away, the game may even be over by halftime.

While Philly boasts an aggressive defense that is among the best in the league, backup quarterback Nick Foles will be eaten alive by the defensive schemes of Bill Belichick and outgoing coordinator Matt Patricia who is moving on to coach the Detroit Lions next year.

The Eagles are incapable of keeping up with the Patriots offensively with their attack likely being limited to whatever former Patriot LeGarrette Blount and midseason addition Jay Ajayi can do working against a criminally underrated New England run defense.

Brady will be pressured by Eagles wrecking ball Fletcher Cox but not enough to make a difference against a man who has ice water in his veins. Brady will utilize a potent array of offensive weapons to first dissect the Eagles D and then to demoralize them.

The only chance that Philly has is a shootout and with Wentz out of the game, that isn’t going to happen.

This one could get out of hand early.
