President Donald Trump lashed out at Mexico and Congress for allowing an endless stream of illegal immigrants and drugs to flow into the United States across the border.
“Mexico has the absolute power not to let these large “Caravans” of people enter their country,” the president tweeted early Monday. “They must stop them at their Northern Border, which they can do because their border laws work, not allow them to pass through into our country, which has no effective border laws. Congress must immediately pass Border Legislation, use Nuclear Option if necessary, to stop the massive inflow of Drugs and People. Border Patrol Agents (and ICE) are GREAT, but the weak Dem laws don’t allow them to do their job. Act now Congress, our country is being stolen!”
Trump’s demand that Mexico do more to stop illegal border crossings comes less than 24 hours after he posted on Twitter that there would be “No more DACA deal!”
Expounding upon yesterday’s comments, the president Monday announced that “Daca is dead,” blamed Democrats for failing to address immigration and border security and said that wall must be built.
“DACA is dead because the Democrats didn’t care or act, and now everyone wants to get onto the DACA bandwagon… No longer works,” Trump tweeted. “Must build Wall and secure our borders with proper Border legislation. Democrats want No Borders, hence drugs and crime!”
“The truth is, walls work,” Customer and Border Protection (CBP) Acting Deputy Commissioner Vitiello said Friday. “The data show it, and our agents know it.”
“When fully funded, about 1,000 of almost 2,000 of the U.S. border with Mexico will have border wall and other critical infrastructure,” Vitiello said.
