Professor Gets Probation after Bashing Conservatives in the Head With Bike Lock

Former Diablo Valley College professor who used a bike lock to assault seven Trump supporters at a free speech rally last August will only receive three years of probation as part of a plea deal reports Breitbart.

The former philosophy professor at Diablo Valley College, Eric Clayton, began serving three years of probation Wednesday after three charges of felony assault with a deadly weapon and one felony count of inflicting great bodily injury were dismissed or stricken from the record says Campus Reform.

According to Alameda County Superior Court records, Clanton entered a “no contest” plea Wednesday to one misdemeanor battery charge. The felony charges against him were dismissed, and an allegation that he had caused serious bodily injury was stricken. A misdemeanor charge that Clanton wore a mask during the commission of the crime also was dropped reports PJ Media.

During a search of Clanton’s home, investigators found documents that linked him to local Antifa groups. According to Breitbart and PJ Media, investigators also found bike locks and clothing that were similar to the items used by the assailant in the assault video that was published online. Additional,y, cell phone tower data placed Clanton close to the location of the assaults on the date they took place.

As said by PJ Media,  Clanton’s three years of probation is “not much of a deterrent for the next antifa goon who wants to bludgeon someone in the head.”
