President Donald Trump holds a Make America Great Again rally in Lewis Center, Ohio on Saturday just days before the August 7th special election in the 12th district. (live streams of the event at the bottom of the article)
The race is between Troy Balderson (R) and Danny O’Connor (D) with the most-recent poll showing the Republican with a razor-thin lead (Monmouth +1). Green Party candidate Joe Manchik is also on the ballot but has received no more than 5% in recent polling.
“Troy Balderson, running for Congress from Ohio, is in a big Election fight with a candidate who just got caught lying about his relationship with Nancy Pelosi, who is weak on Crime, Borders & your 2nd Amendment-and wants to raise your Taxes (by a lot),” Trump tweeted, likely referring to this political ad:
The winner will finish out Rep. Patrick Tiberi’s term which goes until January 2019 and be up for re-election in the November 2018 midterm election.
The event is scheduled to begin at 6:30 am EDT.
