U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said that the media got the story wrong yesterday when they reported that world leaders openly disrespected the president during his address to the General Assembly.
“I deal with these leaders every single day. I know exactly how they think,” Haley told “Fox & Friends” Wednesday. “Do they love America, no. Do they respect America? Now they do.”
During President Trump’s speech yesterday, the crowd chuckled at one point, shortly after he said that his administration had done more for America than any other. There was an unintelligible remark from someone in the crowd, to which Trump said, “So true” and the laughter erupted. Speaking of the outburst, Haley said that world leaders find his undiplomatic candor “funny.”
“They love how honest he is,” she said. “It’s not diplomatic and they find it funny.”
Haley went on to tell the stories the media disregarded that world leaders respected his speech and asked to have pictures taken with the president.
“All day yesterday, they were falling all over themselves to get a picture with him, to talk about how great his speech was, how strong it was,” Haley said. “Whether he says good things about them or not, they love that he’s honest with them.”
