Crumble: Biden drops below 20%, Sanders, Warren Share Top Spot in New Poll

Joe Biden’s poll numbers have steadily slipped over the past several weeks as gaffe after gaffe have left voters looking for other options and now two of his opponents have overtaken him for the first time in the race.

A Monmouth University Poll out Monday puts Biden at 19%, his first sub-20 showing and shows Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders in the lead for the Democratic Party nomination with 20% each.

The variance is in the margin of error, but the trend is remarkable. Warren and Sanders are becoming more popular and Uncle Joe … is not.

Pete Buttigieg, Kamala Harris, Cory Booker et al have made no progress and Beto, Castro and Williamson are barely worth a mention with their ~1% showing.

The Democratic nomination is a three-way .. race and right now it’s the nations’ most recognizable socialists’ to lose.

It’s clear that the race has entered a “new phase” as Monmouth University Polling Institute Director Patrick Murray said. ” The main takeaway from this poll is that the Democratic race has become volatile. Liberal voters are starting to cast about for a candidate they can identify with.”

“Moderate voters, who have been paying less attention, seem to be expressing doubts about Biden. But they are swinging more toward one of the left-leaning contenders with high name recognition rather than toward a lesser-known candidate who might be more in line with them politically,” he added.

With Biden fading, Democrat’s chances of winning in the rust belt become bleak. While progressive extremists in New York and California like the socialistic ideas coming from Sanders and Warren, a good portion of moderate Democrats will likely become discouraged by that agenda and either stay home or flip sides – as they did in 2016.
