White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki held a briefing today in which she attempted to spin the low unemployment claims report as good news, despite the record number of unfilled jobs and record low civilian labor force participation rate.
The economy is struggling as the nation’s supply chain is in shambles due to an increasing number of Americans choosing not to work. This is evidenced by the low participation rate, and the fact that fewer are seeking work in an environment where a massive number of open jobs exist, especially in the trucking, retail, and warehousing industries.
With further spin, Psaki blamed the supply chain crisis, inflation, gas prices and other economic issues on a supposedly improved economy.
“We are this point, because we’ve made progress in the economy,” Psaki said.
In another tone deaf response, Psaki responded to a question about union workers striking due to vaccine mandates by saying that the administration, who is issuing the authoritarian edict, supports workers choice.
During the briefing, the PBS White House Correspondent advocated for a vaccine or testing mandate in order for Americans to fly on domestic flights.
Yamiche Alcindor asked Psaki to explain to the American people “Why there isn’t proof of vaccination or testing required on domestic flights?”
“The U.S. should follow what Canada is doing which is taking those policies to domestic flights,” she added.
