Knucklehead Of The Week: Nancy Pelosi Channels Her Inner Allen Ginsberg [VIDEO]

The address Congress by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Wednesday was passionate and emotion-provoking; I get it. Zelenskyy has charisma, is clearly courageous, and along with his fellow Ukrainians is holding his own against despicable Russian dictator Vladimir Putin against all odds. One could excuse Nancy Pelosi for being fired up and breaking out her Zelenskyy pompoms the next day. But an appropriate reaction from the House Speaker might have been to publicly call on President Biden to handover the fighter jets which Zelenskyy has been begging for, and for which Biden has inexplicably refused. What did Ms. Pelosi do instead? Yup, she read us a poem.

Winner: Nancy Pelosi, sans sunglasses and snapping fingers, harkens back to 1950s beatnik culture and reads a poem by Bono.  

The setting for Speaker Pelosi’s poetry-reading masterpiece was at the annual Friends of Ireland Luncheon hosted by the speaker on Capitol Hill on Thursday, St. Patrick’s Day. The event started off as a competition between Pelosi and President Joe Biden for who could be the most moronic. Biden got off to a fast start when, shortly after being introduced, he explained “I may be Irish, but I’m not stupid.” Don’t sell yourself short, Mr. President, quite clearly, you’re capable of being both.

But Speaker Pelosi was not going to be outdone. Standing before a gathering who were undoubtedly eager to eat their meal without the backdrop of Pelosi’s rambling, the speaker stated the following:

“I got this message this morning from Bono. And most of us have, whether we’re in Ireland or here, or wherever it is, Bono has been a very Irish part of our lives.”
