Smucker Recalls Jif Peanut Butter Over Salmonella Fear
J.M. Smucker has issued a nationwide recall on almost 50 different lots/products over concerns of salmonella contamination.
Salmonella can cause serious illness and even death in the very young, old, or those with compromised immune systems. Otherwise healthy people may experience nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and fever.
Smucker says that the recalled products have been distributed throughout the United States and if consumers find one of the lots listed below, the product should be thrown away immediately.
The recall is being conducted in cooperation with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
