I cannot thank every one of you enough who offered a buck or two (or more) to help CDN keep going. It means a lot.
We receive revenue three ways:
We spend revenue ONE way:
On the site
No one is taking a paycheck at CDN. This is a labor of love.
Please check out our “Support Us” page for all the details, but in summary, if we don’t raise 100% for a given month, I try to make up the shortfall from the paycheck I get from my day job. If that grows to more than I can afford, this goes dark. If we exceed the target, I purchase new content or otherwise improve the site.
CDN is not profitable.
Recurring donations go to paying for content, infrastructure and other monthly costs. The more recurring donations we see, the more content we can afford.
One-time donations help us build our rainy-day fund to pay for unexpected or rare events.
Well, in all honesty… oops.
It’s on me. We didn’t hit 100% in November and I decided to make up the difference myself and roll all new donations over to December. But… I forgot to reset the donation thermometer so it kept showing November numbers.
I hope you’ll forgive me. It’s been a busy month.
I decided to break out donations by recurring donations (those that repeat each month automatically) and those that are one-time (tend to be larger, but can’t count on them for future spending).
So, the first color (red) is for recurring donations and the second color (orange) is for one-time donations received in the current calendar month.
