We’ll See You In Court

Oh my, did Governor Janet Mills really yell out to the President of the United States that she would “See you in court?” I heard it live and played it back many times, to be sure, but yes, she said it. It must have been a slip of the tongue or an out-of-body experience. Nobody in their right frame of mind would be so foolish or disrespectful to the President in his house. But, yup, good old Janet got plenty of prime-time coverage on Friday for being the nitwit who opened her mouth before engaging her brain. It is a common occurrence for the Gov, which would lead you to believe she may be lacking that connection from mouth to brain, in which case we should be sympathetic to her malady.

I recently wrote about Maine’s Governor and legislature’s desire to seek political and cultural advice from California. They see Newsom, Schiff, Pelosi, Waters, and even Swalwell and want to be like them. They want to tax everything that doesn’t move, except for the dead, squander every natural resource, impose every restriction possible to hinder business, and be one of the most expensive places for their residents. Unfortunately for Mills, Maine is not the powerhouse that California is, nor does it have the political clout. However, that does not stop Mills, who is determined to leave Maine in two years with a huge budget deficit to remember her by. Now, by insisting on defying Trump’s Executive Order on trans kids in sports and locker rooms, she may have added another $500 Million to the deficit in lost federal funding. All in a day’s work for the progressive governor. Progressive, yes. Bright, not so much.

Let’s set the stage. Trump was hosting all of the governors to a White House get-together when he got around to discussing his Executive Order prohibiting males from competing in female sports. His EO has the support of nearly 80% of Americans and 67% of Democrats. Governor Mills is among the 20% opposed and has directed the Maine DOE to defy Trump’s edict. When Trump asked Mills directly at the meeting if Maine would comply, she said Maine would follow state and federal laws, to which the President explained that the President’s Executive Order is Federal Law, giving the Governor a quick civics lesson. That is when Governor Mills had her momentary lapse of reality and shouted out the old see you in court challenge. Trump welcomed the challenge and told the Gov it would be an easy win for the White House. Immediately after the sit-down session, the Department of Education launched an inquiry into Maine’s defiance and the stoppage of federal funds to Augusta. How will you explain that shortfall to your constituents, Janet? Nice work on your trip to Washington. I suggest you might want to sit out any future meetings with the Governor of Maine. This trip just cost the good people of Maine $250M dollars. On the flip side, Mills now has a plethora of images of her and Donald Trump on the internet. I am quite sure if she asks the President, he will sign one for her.
