What Will Make Democrats Happy?

Donald Trump used a moment during his address to Congress last week to address the Progressive side of the chamber that was intent on sitting on their hands unless they were protesting. He made a statement with two parts sarcasm, two parts frustration, one part humor, and ten parts the truth. He pointed out that this was his fifth address to a joint session of Congress, and he was convinced there was absolutely nothing he could say from the podium that would garner a positive response from the Left. He could announce the cure for cancer and world hunger. He could announce a plan for lasting peace among every nation on the globe. Short of announcing he was leaving the office of President immediately, there was nothing to get as much as a smile from these folks. This is the biggest collection of TDS sufferers in the country. Trump Derangement Syndrome is incurable and undefinable. It manifests as pure hatred for Donald Trump and everything he says and does, but nobody knows why this happens.

A couple of MSNBC anchors exhibited intense TDS symptoms this week, and both involved a young boy who is winning his battle with cancer and wants to be a cop. DJ Daniel is 13 and was not supposed to see six. A dozen brain surgeries and much love and support have allowed DJ to beat the odds. It was beautiful moment when Trump asked the new head of the Secret Service to give DJ his ID badge, denoting his spot on the squad.

On her show, Rachel Maddow condemned the proceedings as disgusting and disturbing. She claimed Trump had no part in the young boy’s story and was using the young man as a distraction. Nicole Wallace went a few steps further. Wallace connected DJ to the January 6 protest and hoped he did not grow up, become a cop, and have to stop a raging crowd of Republican supporters. Her colleagues’ body language on the panel indicated that even they could not believe what she was saying. This is the evil place where their heads reside.

At first blush, it may seem like I am stereotyping, but the Democrats are angry people with ugly, evil thoughts occupying their minds. They have no joy in their hearts and walk through life with a chip on their shoulder. They are not looking for conversation or debate; they want an argument. They don’t care if the facts are on their side; they will simply be the older person in the debate. If they speak loudly and interrupt incessantly, they think they will win every argument.

Their plan of attack is illogical. It appears to be the same playbook used in Trump’s first term: Russia, Russia, Russia, and start the impeachment proceedings. Al Green, the only person to be removed from a joint session of Congress, has already filed the paperwork. It does not matter that Trump has not committed a crime; he is Donald Trump, which is reason enough. And, oh yeah, do not underestimate the singing. None of these people can carry a tune, but if they keep singing, they may get some people to shift their way just to stop the damn singing!
